The speaker wire appears to be good quality. You can definitely spackle or paint over them because it is so thin. My issues with this cable are 1) the included instructions aren't very clear @ all, 2) terminating this cable with regular speaker terminals is not possible. A special kit from Cables Unlimited is required for each end and @ the time after my purchase no pictures were provided for them on their website.Amazon did deliver the item quickly and it was packaged well.
